About MedRecruit

In 2003 Sam Hazledine graduated as doctor and began his medical career. He began with a twinkle in his eye and a desire to heal the sick, but soon after starting practising he realised that all was not well; many doctors were exhausted, disillusioned and just going through the motions; what had started as a calling had turned into a job that was draining them.

Many doctors were turning to medical recruitment agencies to help them find the work they wanted, but agencies were caught up in an ‘Agency Race’ to be the first to send hospitals CVs when they advertised their vacancies. As a result doctors’ CVs were being sent to inappropriate hospitals and they were getting work that didn’t suit them, and hospitals were not getting the best matched doctors.

As a result a staggering 25% of doctors where leaving the profession within three years of graduation and many hospitals were struggling with their staffing.

In 2006, Sam and his wife Claire established a medical recruitment agency whose aim was to enrich the lives of doctors across Australasia by partnering with them to achieve their career, lifestyle and financial goals, and provide hospitals and clinics with certainty in their staffing; MedRecruit was born.

Today MedRecruit employs over 40 staff and has offices in both Australia and New Zealand.  Over the past seven years, MedRecruit has focused on providing the best match between doctors and hospitals, giving doctors back their lifestyles and giving hospitals the doctors they need, and in doing so has positively impacted the provision of healthcare throughout Australasia.

MedRecruit is in the business of partnering with health care providers to do more with less, while increasing quality at the same time, and by doing this MedRecruit is now the first choice for the majority of hospitals and clinics, which means our doctors have the best chance of being matched the work that best meets their career, lifestyle and financial aspirations; so you really can love your work.
