The Birth of the Republic
In 2003 Sam Hazledine graduated as doctor and began his medical career. He began with a twinkle in his eye and a desire to heal the sick! Soon after beginning he realised that all was not well, many doctors were exhausted, disillusioned and just going through the motions; what had started as a calling had turned into a job that was draining them. As a result a staggering 25% of doctors where leaving the profession within three years of graduation.
In 2006 Sam established MedRecruit, a resource for doctors to reclaim their love of their profession though realising their career, lifestyle and financial goals, through locuming and moving country.
Changing the Medical Paradigm
This focus on lifestyle revolutionised the way doctors looked at medicine, it expanded the medical paradigm; doctors began to realise that they no longer had to sacrifice their lives to practice medicine.
One Place for Everything
Doctors loved the new way of practicing medicine, and MedRecruit grew fast. In 2010 Sam began to see the opportunity to serve doctors even better by creating one place for doctors to handle everything, from learning about locuming, to finding the perfect placement to meet their career, lifestyle and financial needs, to managing their CPD as a locum, to mapping out their goals to really achieve more.
The Republic was Born
In June 2011 the Republic was born – a world-first platform and community where doctors could realise their dreams and a single place to make it all happen effortlessly, easily and enjoyably.
Now doctors have one place, wherever they are, to learn about the specific opportunities available to them, to get their perfect placement to meet their career, lifestyle and financial goals, to manage their CPD as a locum, to map out their goals and to make them a reality, to access world class partners to accelerate their success, and to have a dedicated team of committed professionals dedicated to understanding their dreams and to making them a reality.
